Westernaires

Westernaires is a youth organization that inspires respect, responsibility, teamwork, and a passion for horses. Here kids aged 9-18 ride together in precision mounted drill teams, wowing audiences all over America each year, and has been since 1949. I was once a rider in this fabulous organization, and it has forever changed my life. I carry parts of this organization with me every day. I still frequent the fairgrounds of Fort Westernaire and the grounds at many shows. Drill team photography is one of my loves.

Make it stand out.

  • The Herd

The herd of Westernaires are the powerhouses that run the organization. Without these horses, Westernaires would not be nearly as large as it is!q Horses are available to all youth for a small hourly charge, making riding affordable to all in the Colorado region! These hard-working horses are loved by thousands, and pieces of them are carried in the hearts of the kids who ride them currently and the alumni who once did.

  • Practice

Riders work hard to achieve precision and speed, while maintaining safety. Each week teams ride to ensure they are practicing their drills in order to make these goals happen.

  • Shows

Shows are the time when the hard work of months of weekly rides pays off! The performances these kids create are outstanding! Westernaires has a long list of shows they are regularly invited to year after year. Westernaires even puts together their very own Annual Show!
